Brentwood City Commissioner Rhea Little Announces Bid for Another Term
Brentwood, TN – Brentwood City Commissioner Rhea Little officially kicks off his bid for re-election for the upcoming municipal election. Little, who has been a staple in Brentwood’s political landscape since his first election to the City Commission in 2009, is seeking to continue his leadership for another term.
“I am excited to announce my candidacy for re-election,” Little stated. “Serving the citizens of Brentwood has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue our work together.”
On Tuesday, February 4, a room full of volunteer campaign staff members listened as Rhea and other members of the steering committee provided guidance for the campaign ahead. Teresa Beard is serving as the Campaign Coordinator and Devin McClendon, is the Campaign Political Coordinator.
During his tenure, Little has been instrumental in numerous city projects and initiatives. Under his leadership, Brentwood has seen significant improvements in infrastructure, public safety, and community services. Notably, the completion of the new Brentwood Police Headquarters and the addition of the Brentwood Fire and Rescue Station #5 have been key achievements in enhancing the city’s emergency response capabilities. Also, Little served as Brentwood's mayor during the grand opening of the city's first inclusive playground. “This is a huge day for Brentwood and the entire community of children and parents that will use this park for years to come,” said Rhea Little, then Mayor of Brentwood at the 2022 grand opening. “This is the best example of true teamwork between the city and the community when they work together toward a common goal.”
Little’s deep roots in the community have always been a cornerstone of his political career. His family’s history in Brentwood dates back to the 1790s, and he often speaks fondly of his childhood memories in the area. “Growing up here, I learned the importance of community and service,” Little reminisced. “It’s a legacy I am proud to continue.”
As Brentwood continues to grow, Little acknowledges the challenges that come with expansion, particularly in managing traffic and maintaining the city’s fiscal health. “Our city is at a crossroads,” he said. “We must balance growth with the need to protect the quality of life that makes Brentwood special. This means continuing our commitment to fiscal discipline and ensuring our infrastructure keeps pace with development.”

Little’s campaign will focus on several key issues, including listening to all citizens, enhancing public safety, improving traffic management, and maintaining the city’s strong financial position. He also plans to continue advocating for the amenities that are important to all residents, such as parks and trails.
Walking beside Little as he announced his candidacy was his wife, Marie, who has been a steadfast supporter throughout his political career. The couple, who have been married for nearly 40 years, have two daughters, and one grandson.
The upcoming May 6 election promises to be a pivotal moment for Brentwood, with Little’s experience and vision for the future likely to play a central role in the campaign. As the city prepares for the election, residents can expect a robust discussion on the direction Brentwood will take in the coming years.
